Chibicon Pre-preparations

cimg1456

I’m thinking, why the f**k did we spent so much effort, time and money for one cosplay on a one day anime convention that tbh wasn’t actually worth to be visiting? Hm… that’s one hell of a question. Altho ChibiCon wasn’t as much fun as expected (on the other hand  I expected this), it was nice to see some friends again. And it’s also fun seeing all those (horrible) cosplayers and events. The sad thing is that the con was overall veeeery boring and yuck.  All workshops were already full, so signing up wasn’t possible anymore.

I love cosplay. Well that is only if it’s been done in a good way. Not those eBay failing cosplayers and Narutards and whatever >.< Actually Chibicon was full of those epic failing cosplayers =_=;; No wait, have to correct that one. All Dutch conventions contain failing cosplayers XD And all the other western country cosplayers as well. Now I’m not saying every white person sucks in cosplaying (so don’t feel offended… oh but some of you should), and that all Asians (incl. me) are just so f**king awesome cosplayers and will rule the cosplay world? (k wtf was that). And I’m also not saying that they’re not allowed to cosplay, because they should just do whatever they feel like doing. But I stumble a lot in these situations when I think “Should I jaw drop now, or is this the moment to roll on the floor laughing my ass off?!” And this is just my opinion. Because I also think Japanese people are just the best fit people for cosplay. But I think a lot of people agree with this.

Anyways, I saw Chibicon as an opportunity for cosplaying. With some effort I was able to force let my friend Fung join me in cosplay! Read more

Chibicon 2009

Currently my internet is having issues, so I’m writing this now in a Word document. Blogging just feels like an obligatory. Altho I’m not doing this for any goal and I won’t accomplish anything with this.

Anyhow, it’s been a while! Been kinda busy with school *coughs*. . . I had my first piano performance last week Saturday (exactly 7 days ago) =3  Not sure what to say about this. Only that I had a black out right when the climax of the song came >.< So I just skipped that part, and went over to the next part. But, I wasn’t the only one making a few mistakes. Actually everybody made at least one mistake. And also the whole performance was just for fun. So nothing special. But it’s really a bummer that I wasn’t able to perform the whole song perfect, since I’m pretty much a perfectionist.

Last night I stayed over at Fung’s place. Watched a movie called “Sweet Rain” with Takeshi Kaneshiro ^_^  Good movie.
And today we went to Chibicon! Which was… okay… but could’ve been better. Actually it was plain boring tbh XD We wanted to attend some workshops, but were too late to sign up. So what’s left was  gaming, karaoke, food and shopping. Since Fung has singing anxiety, karaoke was out of the question. We did some gaming, ate some stuff and did some shopping. Actually I was the only one. I bought 2 figma’s. Tsuruya-san and Tsukasa Hiiragi which made me really happy ^w^ Ehm… we’ve watched the AMV competition and at the end of the day they were singing, with a big group, the Kumikyoku Nico Nico Douga. Of course we sang along. I was really amazed that the lead singer knew (almost) all of the text and was able to sing the very high notes.
Since I’m pretty tired atm, it’s hard to recall all the stuff that happened. Probably also because not much happened. So in the afternoon we just sat outside in the shadows, chillin and stuff.
Quite a few people took photos of/with us. And I took a photo with Lucky Star’s Minoru Shiraishi =3

At  that moment I was stupid enough to forget about the “Bye-ni” hand pose..hehe ^^;;
But the guy was nice and really looked like Minoru which was pretty awesome and my face on the photo is fugly ^^

Just got home from a friend’s late b-day party. Did some Singstar and watched a movie. Laughed a lot XD
Pretty tired at the moment, so I’ll be heading off for bed any moment, since I gotta wake up around 7.30 tomorrow for work. Eiko will give me a visit at work tomorrow, cos she’s eager to see the opening of the new game shop which is nearby. So I’ll be joining her ^^ We haven’t seen each other for a while. It’s like I’m ignoring all my “internet-friends” or hang out people. I missed a LOT of stuff. Like the MUCC concert, D=Out, some b-days and a lot of other meet ups :( Kinda busy with school lately, end of the year, so I got no time unfortunately >.<

Last monday we got some shocking news at school. A girl, in the same class of my friends, just lost her brother that weekend before. Caused by some accident while playing golf. I really feel so sorry for her. She’ll be missing a big part of her life. Like if I’d lost my brother, I’d be devastated. It’s someone you grow up with. So I’ve got respect for her, being able to go through such a hard time.

Wednesday I had to go to the dentist. He fixed my braces and replaced the wires. So the next day, of course, my teeth hurt like ()@*&$$^*(@!# And still does, but less. But the guy said this’ll be the last time I have to replace my wires, and hopefully I’ll be brace-less around september ^^
After going to the dentist I went to IKEA with my mom and dad!! I really LOVE IKEA! <3 My whole room has been made out of IKEA…except for the curtains and paint on the wall. Like my desk, bed, wardrobes, floor, lamps, shelves. And now also the chair I’m now sitting in. My old chair really needed some replacement. I fell several times from my chair. Like when I’m changing position, and then suddenly the surface from the chair falls off >.<

img_8388Behold, my new IKEA chair n__n

It’s really comfortable and it can roll around very smoothly through the whole room XD The wheels from my last chair were stuck and not able to rotate. Ever heard of a chair being able to kill a person btw? I’m glad I replaced that old crap chair of mine ^^”

Last weekend I had some fun with brownies and a puppet called Mr.Jummy (which is from a commercial). Read more

YFU application

Do you like P.E. and sports? To be honest I don’t. Never liked P.E. from the start. I’m just one fat lazy bastard =P
Last week during P.E. while we were doing soccer, this guy in my class shot a ball right at my face >.< Which happens very occasionally to me =_= Somehow I attract balls o_O (if you’re thinking the same I’m thinking right now… then you’re so WRONG). And now I’ve got a small wound in my lip, caused by my “oh-so-wonderful” braces >.< So I hope you understand my hate for P.E. now ^^;;
Altho I would love to a sport, I don’t know what kind of sport I want to do since my condition is very poor. Thought about kendo, which my friend Ching is also practicing. I even know a kendo club here in the neighborhood that offers lessons. However this club only consists of men older than 20 I think. But I could pay a visit to the club sometime to have a look.

Today I received a letter from YFU, notifying that I’m now officially enrolled for the high school exchange program to Japan! Altho there’ll be an interview somewhere in september. And depending on that, I might as well be turned down for the program. So it’s 50/50. The letter also included a form which I have to fill in and send back within 2 weeks. Plus a copy of my passport, which has already been expired. So need to request a new passport as well.

Ate some kimchi udon for lunch. My favorite at the moment! ^^ Since we’re all kinda lazy here, we mostly have an instant ramen (or udon) stock in house. I eat instant food very often. Like ramen, udon, microwave, pizza… you name it.  Junkfood paradise helloow! 8D And since my parents got an Asian grocery store, it’s easy to get on those instant ramen and what else.

img_8298

Somehow.. the udon looks like a bunch of worms on the photo…
I prefer eating with bamboo chopsticks btw. How ’bout you?

Btw, the reason why all the photos in my posts are very narrow, is probably caused by the theme I’m using now >.<

ABJD

Stix, ur so right. Where’s my money ;____; Does anybody know where I can buy seeds for a money tree? Have been looking for those for a while =_=

Today’s Mothersday btw. Not that we celebrate it in particular, but I think we’re going to yamcha and dimsum ^^

Lately I’ve been lurking around on doll sites (mainly Danny’s fault >.<). And not just normal dolls like Barbie (wtf), but Asian ball jointed dolls. It wasn’t Danny’s fault tho for introducing me to the doll scene. Actually, 3 years ago I wanted to  buy one as well. At that time I just started to deepen my interest for Japan, which is not quite long huh? =p But I’ve always been fascinated by the country. Probably also because my parent’s have got an Asian grocery store, which also sells Japanese food but also porcelain and yes.. maneki neko ^^
Anyway, my interest for Japan started with the lolita fashion (which was also quite an expensive hobby and interest and is the reason why I stopped wearing the clothes). Had been around on a few forums and attended a lot of meetings. And so I noticed a lot of fellow lolitas had a so called ball jointed doll, which looked (and still look) pretty! ^^ Was saving for one… but eventually gave up -_-” And so lately I’ve got the urge to want one again .___. But I’m not allowed to spend any money since I’m saving now for Japan.
But if I’m ever going to buy one, it’ll be these lil ones ^^ But yeah… lets keep on dreaming ^^;;

So cute! I prefer a small one and one that’s cute and smiling. Seen a lot of “depressing” dolls which are just too…depressing >.<
Oh, and these ones are from Luts btw. Any other doll brand recommendations?
